This concept paper is developed after a series of simple exercises in form of action research to establish the possibility and viability of establishing a wheel chair maintenance and repair service center.

The association exists to; bring together people with disabilities resulting from spinal injuries in Kabarole district so that they are assisted to achieve independence, self-reliance and full community participation through Research, advocacy, capacity building and networking.

Mobility of disabled people with walking is an overarching challenge towards the development of these people and their dependants. It is in that context that the association has greatly invested time and resources to develop this idea.

About Us

Spinal Injury Association Kabarole (SIAK) is an organisation of people with disabilities resulting from fatal spinal cord injuries. The organisation is found in Fort Portal town, Kabarole district in Western Uganda, East Africa.
